About Me

My name is Cathie McGregor and I am based in Wellington. I am a trained celebrant and hold a Certificate in Celebrant Studies from the Celebrant School .

I would be delighted to work with you to create a beautiful ceremony to celebrate the treasured moments and significant milestones that mark your life journey.

I have a genuine love of ceremony and words. As a writer of songs and poetry I have the flair and enthusiasm to work with you to craft the perfect words for every part of your ceremony and to find the readings, music and rituals to celebrate your treasured moments in a way that is distinctive, meaningful and just right for you.

As you are looking for an independent celebrant it is likely you are wanting a secular ceremony, and this is the approach and style we would take. However, I am also comfortable building spiritual or faith-based elements into your ceremony if this resonates with you.

I am a frequent visitor to Italy, and fluent in Italian – if you desire a ceremony delivered (wholly or in part) in Italian - I am your celebrant.

Whether celebrating a marriage, civil union, vow renewal, ceremony of commitment or recommitment, or an elopement, your ceremony will reflect your unique love story, personalities, vision and style. We will celebrate your love with a personalised ceremony, that conveys your hopes and promises in your authentic voice, deep with meaning and memories.

Creative Ceremonies and Rituals to Mark Life’s Milestones

I also offer a range of other types of ceremony to honour the major life events and transitions that shape us as human beings.

These may be joyous occasions, such as welcoming a new baby with a naming or blessing ceremony, celebrating a new home, or recognition of a rite of passage such as acquiring citizenship, a graduation, retirement or significant birthday.

I would be delighted to participate in the joy, gratitude  and wonder of these special occasions and to make them truly memorable.

Farewells

It may be an occasion to mark a farewell, with sadness, honour and love, such as a ceremony to scatter or inter the ashes of a loved one, a remembrance ceremony or an unveiling.

It is a special privilege to work with families during these poignant occasions, to help them hold their loved one close and to remember and celebrate them with pride and reverence. I would be honoured to work with you in this sacred space of grief.

It would be my absolute privilege to be your celebrant for your special event, whatever the nature of the occasion.  I will work closely with you to design and perform a memorable ceremony to celebrate this treasured moment in your life.
